Japan Post Bank Card Money Transfer Service

A very convenient service for sending regular remittances to the same recipient. You can send money at any post office nationwide.
Simply register for the “Japan Post Bank Card Money Transfer Service” then, each time you wish to send money to the same recipient, just deposit the money into a Japan Post Bank ATM and your money will be sent automatically, without the need to register your recipient again. You will also receive email notifications after each remittance.

How It Works

1. First Step

Register a recipient through the SBI Remit Website and select “Japan Post Bank Card Money Transfer Service”

2. Deposit Remittance

Deposit Remittance funds at the Japan Post Bank/post office's ATM or counter.
You can make a deposit at any Japan Post Bank Company location and ATMs using a deposit card.

Notes on deposits

  • Your Japan Post Bank Company Deposit Card is included in the “Welcome Package”
  • The limit of one deposit from an ATM is 100,000 yen. If your deposit exceeds 100,000 yen, please visit the counter at the JP Bank for assistance. Please note that you may need to present photo ID.
  • SBI Remit obtains deposit information from Japan Post Bank according to the schedule listed below. Please note that this may cause a short delay in the processing of remittance requests.   Deposits made by 11:30 a.m. on bank business days will be transferred after 3 p.m. on the same day
      Deposits made between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on bank business days will be transferred after 9 a.m. on the next business day
      Deposits made after 4 p.m. on bank business days will be transferred after 10 a.m. on the next business day
  • For Japan Post Bank Money Transfer, consecutive remittances of the same amount to the same receiver, remitting time might be delayed to prevent errors to occur. For urgent remittances, send a different amount to the same receiver.

3. After a fund is deposited, SBI Remit will begin the remittance procedure and notify you via email once the transaction is completed

Fees will be taken from the deposit and a remittance will be carried out in your choice of currency.
You will receive a detailed statement (fee, exchange rate, reference number etc) on each transaction by email.

4. Give the recipient the reference number

It is essential that you give the reference number to the recipient so they can receive the funds so that the recipient can present the reference number to receive the funds. ID is also required.

5. The recipient receives the payment from MoneyGram
