SBI Remit & SBPS Partnership – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for Customer Membership Procedure and GCash Remittance Service

We are providing helpful FAQ about SBI Remit Customer Membership Procedure and GCash remittance service on SBI Remit.

 

How will SBPS link personal information to SBI Remit and make SBI Remit’s Gcash remittance available?
Please tell me the schedule.

From September 1st to October 15th, 2020, we will confirm your intention regarding the shared use of personal information on SBPS’s GCASH REMIT My Page.

Except for those who have confirmed that they do not agree, we will send you a Welcome Package containing temporary login password required for SBI Remit’s membership registration using Sagawa Express “”Recipient Confirmation Support”” service from beginning of November.

We will send the Welcome Package to those who meet certain conditions such as those who have completed the main membership registration by submitting the identity verification documents and those who have made remittance at Gcash Remit.

After registration as online member on the SBI Remit website and completing the required setup, you will be able to send remittances to GCASH (mobile wallet) thru SBI Remit from December 1, 2020,

 

What kind of remittance method (payment) does SBI Remit have?

Several ways of deposit method can be used for each customer at SBI Remit.

This includes depositing to a unique account prepared by SBI Remit for each customer using internet remittance, and many more.

 

What kind of receiving method does SBI Remit have in the Philippines?

Remittances thru SBI Remit can be received thru cash-pickup or direct transfer to bank accounts in the Philippines.

Receiving thru GCASH (Mobile Wallet) will be avaiable from December 1, 2020.

 

If I change from SBPS’s GCASH REMIT to SBI Remit’s GCASH (Mobile Wallet), will there be changes with regards to service content, fees, exchange rates, remittance limitations, etc?

The remittance fees, Famiport fees, exchange rates, and remittance limitations are different for both companies, so please inquire from each company’s website for details.

At SBPS’s GCASH REMIT, after using Famiport for deposit, the remittance procedure is continued on My Page.

In the case of SBI Remit, Famiport deposit will automatically remit the amount to your assigned receiver directly.

How should I make a new application for SBPS GCASH REMIT after the user registration become unavailable on October 1st?

Please apply from the SBI Remit website.

SBI Remit plans to start GCASH (Mobile Wallet) from December 1, 2020, in addition to receiving cash and accounts withdrawal via MoneyGram.

What is the shared use of personal information? Will all personal information be shared with SBI Remit?

No, the only minimum personal information of the customers required for membership registration will be shared with SBI Remit.

Based on this information, SBI Remit may send you an email or phone to support or solicit membership registration.

In addition, information such as remittance recipients information and remittance history registered by the customer in SBPS will not be shared.

For this reason, customers are requested to register their remittance recipient information by themselves after the member registration at SBI Remit.

 

When registering as a member of SBI Remit, are there any precautions to take when receiving the welcome package delivered by Sagawa Express?

With Sagawa Express’s “”Recipient Confirmation Support”” service, welcome packages can only be delivered to the address registered by the individual.

Also, please note that you cannot transfer to an address or office other than the registered one. Family members cannot receive it instead.

At the time of receipt, you will need to show the Sagawa Express driver a valid ID (driver’s license, alien card, etc.) that can confirm your address, so please be prepared.

■ Delivery date and time cannot be specified.

If you are absent, a notice of absence will be posted, so please contact Sagawa Express and request redelivery.

■ For customers whose ID (driver’s license, etc.) is written in kanji, it is necessary to show a passport in addition to the above ID in order to confirm the English notation of the name.

Please be aware.

 

I applied for membership registration to GCASH REMIT of SBPS, but I have not registered as a primary member since then. In this case, will SBI Remit send a welcome package?

The SBI Remit welcome package will only be sent to customers who have registered as a primary member of SBPS’s GCASH REMIT.

Please register as a primary member at GCASH REMIT by October 15, 2020, or apply for membership registration by yourself from the SBI Remit website.

Is it possible to send Gcash money immediately after completing the primary membership registration of SBI Remit?

After completing the primary membership registration of SBI Remit, you need to complete the procedures for deposit and remittance instructions.

The Gcash remittance option will be added on the SBI Remit website after December 1, so please register the remittance recipient before using it.

 

I am also a member of SBI Remit at the same time as SBPS’s GCASH REMIT. Will I receive a welcome package from Sagawa Express again?

If you are already an SBI Remit member, no procedure is required, so Sagawa Express will not send you a welcome package.

 

I used to send money overseas at SBI Remit, but I was rated as not able to send money overseas and switched to Gcash.
Will it be possible to transfer money from SBI to Gcash after this integration?

GCASH may be available if the reason for the inability to remit is due to the partner side.
