How to Register
(for Customers in Areas where Delivery / Recipient ID Services Are Not Available)

This guide is for customers who wish to register and live in areas where Sagawa Express’s “Delivery / Recipient ID Service” is not available

1 Register for Membership (free of charge)

Membership registration can be accessed from the membership registration page. For your address, select the option “I don’t know my zip code” and then input the address phonetically in the English alphabet.
Select “unspecified” for the preferred date and time for delivery of documents. *Date and time preference is not available.

2 We ask that you send personal identification documents by post
(required to confirm your identity)

SBI Remit conducts identity verification of customers in accordance with the “Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds” and “Foreign Trade Law”.

From April 1st, 2020, due to the amendment on “Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds”, it requires at least two of the following documents-checks for valid identity verification.

 

In addition, Due to the legal changes, from 2020 October 1st, a non-health insurance related company may no longer request their customers to submit information regarding “key code(kigo)”, “number(bangou)” and “insured person’s ID number(hokenshabangou)” written on their health insurance card(Hokenshou). Thus, when sending a hard-copy of health insurance card for identity verification, please cross-out the “key code(kigo)”, “number(bangou)” and “insured person’s ID number(hokenshabangou)” section in the hard copy.

 

 

Identity verification documents to be mailed to SBI Remit

Please send-in hard-copy version of at least two of the following documents which states your name, date of birth and current address.

  • ･Driver’s Licences(both-sides)
  • ･Residence Card(Zairyu-card(both-sides)), special permanent resident certificate
  • ･Health insurance card(Hokenshou)*１
  • ･My Number Card(front-side only)*2
  • ･Certificate of Residence, Certificate of Items Stated in Resident Register (issued within 3months)

Note: Foreign Residence must submit a copy of residence card(Zairyu-card) and one of the abovementioned documents for valid identification check.

*1 Please cross-out the “key code(kigo)”, “number(bangou)” and “insured person’s ID number(hokenshabangou)” section.

*2　Notification Card is not accepted

 

If you only have one of the abovementioned documents, submission of supplementary documents is necessary.

  • ･National tax / local tax receipt, tax payment certificate, social insurance premium receipt
  • ･Payment receipt of public utility( (issued within 3 months), however, bills or invoices are not accepted)

From a few days to around one week

3 Delivery of your Welcome Pack

We will send your Welcome Pack (documents required to make a transaction including your temporary login and password) by basic registered mail, or as a business pack.

4 Initial Login

You will need to confirm that you have read our Terms and Conditions of International Money Transfer Transactions; set your transaction password and confirm receipt of emails.

5 Start Using Our Services

*There will be cases where we are unable to accept applications, even after completing the above process.
