Contributions to Ibaraki Prefecture by Privately-placed Bonds for SDGs “Chiikino Mirai Ouensai” -Support for Labor Shortage Resolution and Multicultural Society Realization in the Local Companies-


SBI FinTech Solutions Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director & CEO: Yuichi Kaneko, hereinafter “SBI FinSol”), a total FinTech solution company, announces that contributions are made to Ibaraki prefecture using privately-placed bonds for SDGs “Chiikino Mirai Ouensai” (*1) (*2), issued by SBI Finsol and underwritten by Tsukuba Bank, Ltd. (Head office: Tsuchiura-shi, Ibaraki, President: Masahiko Ikuta, hereinafter “Tsukuba Bank”), as SBI FinSol agrees to Tsukuba Bank’s policy to challenge regional social issues for SDGs achievement.

 

SBI Remit Co., Ltd (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Nobuo Ando, hereinafter “SBI Remit”), a subsidiary of SBI FinSol, sets financial service provision centering on remittance service to foreign residents as our mission and makes continuous efforts for improvement of service usability such as financial technology introduction utilizing US Ripple’s distributed ledger technology with features of speedy transfer and reasonable fees and multilingual (12 languages) support enhancement.

 

With a backdrop of today’s decrease in population of productive age and labor shortage due to declining birthrate and aging society, the number of foreign workers increases year by year and they are expected to supply the labor shortage by regional society too. In this situation, SBI Remit works actively to collaborate with reginal financial institutions as a part of the regional revitalization through partnerships with regional financial institutions that SBI Group promotes and strives for environment improvement for remittance service to be used by foreign residents comfortably.

 

SBI FinSol, considering such situation of its subsidiary SBI Remit, contributes to Ibaraki prefecture utilizing the issued privately-placed bonds for SDGs “Chiikino Mirai Ouensai” underwritten by Tsukuba Bank, so that the contributions are to be used for labor shortage resolution of Ibaraki regional companies and multicultural society realization. It was realized in the belief that contributions to Ibaraki prefecture’s initiatives for securing and supporting foreign workers would be a direct help of local community activities in finance as well as services.

 

SBI Remit keeps prioritizing its customers’ needs and strives for “new value provision” and “customer focus principal realization” by development of user-friendly and secure remittance service utilizing the latest financial technology, contributions to regional economy revitalization by various initiatives and strengthening partnerships with regional financial institutions as well. (*1) SDGs means Sustainable Development Goals. It is a global goal is adopted by United Nations Summit in September 2015 consisting of 17 goals and 169 targets for sustainable world achievement and an oath to “leave no one behind” on the earth.

(*2) Privately-placed bond for SDGs “Chiikino Mirai Ouensai” is to support the future of regions for a sustainable regional society realization by contributions or endowments of a part of issuance fees that Tsukuba Bank receives from issuing company of private placement bonds to local schools and public entities.
