Precautions when receiving money from an account

  • Please provide us with correct account information (bank name, account number, recipient name, etc.).
  • If there is a transfer error, the transfer fee will be deducted for the refund procedure.
  • We may contact the recipient by phone, so we need the recipient’s phone number.
  • Please note that it takes 10 minutes to 3 business days to receive the money.

SBI Remit uses MoneyGram’s network to provide a cash pick-up service. You can send money in about 10 minutes* through MoneyGram’s partner stores.

*It may take several hours to two days depending on the remittance method, the business hours of the overseas affiliated stores, and the handling conditions. Even if the recipient does not have a bank account, it is possible to receive the money in cash at a nearby handling store.

Considerations for Cash Pick-up

You can send and receive up to 96,000 USD equivalent for 12 months.

However, we have the following restrictions.

  • Send or receive up to 10,000 USD per transaction.
  • Send or receive up to 20 transactions in 30 days.
  • Maximum Remittance amount: 10,000 USD in 30 day period, but amount should not exceed 1,000,000 JPY.
  • When a consumer reaches a combined send/receive total of 24,000 USD in a 6-month period, or 72,000 USD within a 12-month period, the transaction will be placed on hold. The consumer will need to call MoneyGram to complete the transaction. Consumers may be asked for information such as purpose of transaction, source of income and whether they plan to send or receive additional transactions with MoneyGram. This allows both MoneyGram and the consumer to feel comfortable completing the transaction.
  • Please note that depending on the customer’s usage situation, there may be restrictions even if they are within the above remittance restrictions.
  • In accordance with related laws and regulations such as the Payment Services Act, the Foreign Exchange Act, and the Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds, we may ask you to confirm your usage status.
